Courtney you are having a very good season, keep up the good work! And when I write about us needing a front runner, I’m not putting you or anyone else down. To be successful as a team you have to have someone running at least in the top 15 or so of the race. I’m glad you have been able to run this season without the last three years of pain and health issues.

I’m not quit sure what I’m going to say on this subject without saying too much. I’m not even sure what the subject is. But the subject does bother me, I guess what really bothers me is how kids treat other kids sometimes. Specially when you are suppose to be teammates. Everybody is different and I have tried to be as fair as I can to everybody. So it bothers me when we can’t respect other people feelings and treat someone like most people would not like to be treated. I’m dancing around this subject, so don’t read a lot into this. So never mind. If you think you know what I’m talking about you’re probably not right. Just don’t treat anyone like you wouldn’t want to be treated. Enough said.

Its amazing to me that year after year one school can dominate a sport like York Elmhurst. There they were again, front of the race in their white uniforms with green trim. Top two males runners from York. Coach Newton sitting in his chair yelling at his troops.
I thought we raced well, we looked strong, then we got the results and we were 32nd out of 52 or 53 teams. The girls were like 37 I think out of 42. Once again the girls were packed in tight. Tiffney was our number one for two meets in a row. She ran a decent time of 20:21. Courtney was number 2 for us, followed by Alyssa, Mollie and Paige was back in the line up for her first race in over 3 weeks. The girls looked stronger to me, better finishes, we will have Kaity back next week end and Chelsea, so we should be full strength. Plus Paige should be stronger after a week of practice.
On the boys side-Nix had a great race running number one for us and Jones also raced very well, running our number 2-both their times were the best we have had up there in several years. I was hoping someone would break under 16 minutes, they were close, maybe we will get another chance in a few weeks. Goff and Hesser raced well-Hesser got knocked down, stomped on and spiked, but got up and ran in our top 4. Kubicki was our number 5, he is in rut, struggling with the mental aspect of racing right now. But he is a senior and has been through the struggles before and will snap out of it!
So we move on-this weekend we race at Centralia and then the following Tuesday is our conference meet. So its time to get serious, time to focus.
The trip to Peoria is always special-the kids have a good time, get to spend sometime together. They get to eat at Cheddars, hang out together. Enjoy that 6 hours on the road.

Different day-different out look on life. Practice was good-Wednesday hill day. Also was picture day-in the past picture day has been very stressful, but almost everyone had uniforms-was there on time, had a bunch of individual pictures. One hang up-Mollie had a doctors appointment and didn’t get back in time so the team voted to take the picture later. Jacob and Thomas went with Coach Cummings-for some special one on one-then hit the ice bath for the legs. This weekend should be very interesting for the boys-we need to race and see what we can do. We know we can’t win, certain teams we need to beat. The girls need to put in some good times and try to improve.
