Still in the great north-lots of mile and lots stops. The weather is cold and not very nice. Can’t wait to get back to southern Illinois.

There is way too much traffic in Chicago.  Had a nice visit last night after work with Audrey and Ryan. We met them in Linclon Park at Laura’s and Mark’s new apartment. The apartment is very nice, two bedrooms and a very nice outside area. Mark grilled for us, we had a very nice evening. Our drive back to our hotel was very interesting, we kept missing our exit and ending back on the inter state highway, after three times, I just headed on a side road and we finally arrived. Well I have a big  day of work in front of me-lots more driving in a lot more traffic!  Seems like weeks ago that the guys were preparing for the state track meet. I’m sure they are in the full swing of things with football and basketball. Won’t be long and it will be time for the runners to get going. Later!

I’m setting in the Hyatt in Chicago, right now-I had some thoughts about somethings but I have forgot what those thoughts were. I did notice one thing today-the horses that pull the carriages? I noticed today that at the back end of the horse is a bag that is built into the carriage, the tail lays down in this bag, and that is where the horse “stuff” goes! Keeps the streets of Chicago clean. Cab drivers, drive to fast! Also where do all those horses go at night? Is there a barn some where? A barn in downtown Chicago?  If you know the answers please contact me.  Just had a great weekend in South Bend with my family and my son-in-laws family. Played some golf, boy am I bad! One last thing-to the truck driver that gave me a little tap on I-90 @#$$%^&&** you!

Good night from downtown Chicago Illinois!

I know I’m a little late on this. Thoughts on the IHSA state track meet. It was nice to get some people to the day of finals. I was hoping for a better race in the 4×800 but it didn’t happen. The guys had a great season, one of the better 4×800 teams in the area. We could of been better, I let somethings slip. But a conference championship, 1 2nd place in the sectional and 12th in the state. So nice job-Adam Wilkins 3 years to the state meet, Kubicki 2 years, Goff 2 years and he is back, and Brummel a couple trips north. Quentin made it to the finals for the high jump. I know he wanted to clear more than 6′1, but a 9th place finish is great and he has a chance to come back next year. Sam was unable to clear the openig height, but he came a long way from  freshman year.  We could be back next year but only time will tell. Over all it was a nice few days and I had a good ride home with Sam and Matt. We had a new experience-the poles kept trying to fall off the top of the sub on the interstate, at least three times we had to stop to put them back on top. We finally made it home with the windows down and Matt and I hold onto the tube the poles were in!  Another great season for the Wildcats of Salem.
