Been locked out of the site for a few days. I hate computers! We have a new coach for the women team. Shannon is the new coach! Things are going well. Dates to remember-This Thursday dinner at 5:30 at the school.
First meet Saturday-bus leaves at 6:30am. We will eat on the way home at Dairy King in Breese. September 28th KC cross country will be hosting a grade school meet at the campus-IT IS MANDATORY FOR YOU TO BE THERE-SO IF YOU HAVE A JOB YOU NEED TO ASK OFF FOR THE DAY. IF YOU HAVE CLASS-GO TO CLASS. Another date is October 2nd-we will be helping with a 5k run in the park. Or maybe we will be running in it! Mark that date. The ban has been listed! The weather should be good on Saturday.

The KCSA will again host the Fall Welcome Back Dinner for all student athletes on Thursday, September 2 at 5:30 p.m. in the Student Center. Practice, work, practice, work. Another week and half a meet. I often hear, coach that’s boring, lets do something else. I don’t want to run that way its boring. Lets do something different. Larry Bird use to shot 500 shots a day after practice. That had to be boring but that’s how he got better. This is cross country-you get better by running. You get better by running fast. You get better by running mile repeats. You get better by running hills. You get better by running distance, at a fast pace. That’s it is it plain and simple. Run and run faster.

Good hill workout today. Girls as a group had great workout. Boys were probably a c+ as a group. Did have some A’s in the group-but throw in some lower grades? Will maybe they were a B- as group. Girls get a A-. Hope to have a good workout on Thursday-going on a long run.

Had a good practice today. Decided Mondays are going to be tough practice day. Ran 1 mile repeats. The men ran 7, well 4 of them ran 7. Jones and Voss looked strong. Goff and Nix had good work out and Neff was good but sit out one. Cameron did a good job but the others struggled. The women ran 4. Pleased with the efforts and got an idea of what they could do. Mollie and Megan ran in the front of each one of the repeats but the other 4 were not too far behind. I was glad to get a good workout in. Hope to have a good week.
