I have been away for awhile. Not really gone but not here in blog land. Things have changed-I resigned as the cross coach at Salem. The local community college decided to start a new program. I applied for the position with the just the idea of getting an interview. Well I got that interview toward the end of May and was offered the job. It was a tough decision, I had a lot of talent coming back and a lot of great kids-I really wanted to see how things were going to play out but you know what they say “opportunity may only knock once” -so after a lot of soul searching- I accepted the position.  Going to miss the guys-Nix, Goff, Clark, “Peanut butter Cup” and the new guys coming in. Shetley and her gang of ladies-Paige, Katie-C Knaak. But they will be fine! I’ll be watching and if you ever need anything just give me a shout!  Had 7 good years at Salem, meet a boat load of great kids some that are now-teaching and coaching. All growing up to be a credit to the school.  I hope I was a part of that growing process.  My  new gig is a little different-we got a little bit of a late start with the recruiting but we should be able to fill out the rosters to have teams.  I was able to sign a few of my ex runners, so that should be fun. Could use a few more runners, hoping to pick a couple here when we get started, which is this Saturday August 1st.  Big challenge ahead, but life would be boring with out challenges. I have never been happy with just a regular 9 to 5 job. I need the extra, the feeling of being over ran with too much to do and not enough time to do it in. So thats what I have been up to. Kaskaskia College Cross Country here I come-lets see what happens. To all my runners over the last 15 plus years, starting with Selmaville Grade school through Salem Community High School-THANKS!

See ya at the finish line!
